Saturday night Live has been a celebrated TV show for, coming up on Oct 11, 2010, 35 years and has entertained, offended, and has been imitated for decades. It has gone through some great seasons with great cast and some not so great casts.
In this article I am going to give the top 10 best cast members of SNLs legendary history, based on likeability and their careers after their SNL stays. See what you think. Now, first and foremost off the bat, I am informing you, members who had a 1 year stay are not qualifying for this. So this will exclude some greats like Chevy Chase (1975-1976), Robert Downey Jr. (1985-1986) and Billy Crystal (1984-1985). Get the point?

Yes, absolutely. Dana Carvey,Joe Piscopo, and even Kevin Nealon (who I thought was hilarious) likely would have made the list. If Julia didn't have her long stint with Seinfeld, it would be hard to not have given it to someone else. I put a bit into post career "after SNL" with them all, I found it interesting that Chevy was only on for 1 year. When I was a kid, it seemed like he was on forever....lol. Guess I was wrong!!

This is a good list and hard to dispute. I am curious, however: if you chose not to factor the post-SNL careers of the cast, would it have affected your list and/or rankings? For example, would Dana Carvey or Joe Piscopo have made the list? Would Julia Louis Dreyfus been excluded if her long stint on Seinfeld was excluded? I would not dispute your list either way--I was simply curious how much weight you gave to the post-SNL careers of these folks.
